igloohome

OwnerRez has a direct integration with igloohome. Users must create a free igloohome account, and download and use the igloohome phone app to set up the locks/devices. You can then go into OwnerRez and set up the lock integration.

igloohome products are designed to work offline, using their "algoPIN" (short for algorithmic PIN). Because they can work offline, igloohome locks are ideal for remote locations with non-existent or poor internet access.

The setup process exchanges an encryption key stored on Igloo Home's servers. With this setup, users can generate an algoPIN that is valid for a certain period without communicating directly with the lock.

igloohome locks can be configured to be on Wifi instead by using a Wifi bridge and not the algoPIN method.

Users need to download the igloohome app on their phone first to set up the locks over a local/short-range Bluetooth connection.

Features & Limitations

Without Wifi Bridge

Features
Limitations
  • Users cannot specify the code, nor use the guest's phone number
  • Different locks at the same location will have different codes
  • Code length is preset as 7-9 digits (exact length varies on the length of stay)
  • The code must be used within 24 hours of its start time or it becomes inactive
  • Stays less than 29 days, the start and end time must be a whole hour (i.e. 2 p.m., not 3 p.m.)
    • OwnerRez automatically rounds the start time to the top of the configured hour, and the end time to the next configured hour
  • Stays more than 29 days, the start time must be a whole hour, and the end time must be the same hour
    • OwnerRez automatically rounds the start time to the top of the configured hour, and the end time to the same hour, or next day if check in < check out time
  • No lock information (battery, logs, etc)
  • No remote lock / unlock

Wifi Bridge

igloohome's Wifi Bridge device can be used to provide greater control over the locks by bridging the Wifi/cloud connection to the locks over Bluetooth. Users purchase the bridge and configure it with the phone app, allowing them to remotely manage the lock.

Features
  • igloohome generated codes
  • Custom Codes
  • Last X digits of guest phone number
  • Random Codes (as generated by OwnerRez)
Limitations
  • 4 to 6-digit lock codes
  • Bridge device must be online and within Bluetooth range of the lock
  • Same first use time limit, top of hour / matching hour logic applies regardless of bridge device

Steps for Integration

1. If purchased, install the optional Wifi Bridge first. If you choose not to purchase the Wi-Fi Bridge, door lock codes will default to an igloohome algoPIN™ configuration.

2. Download and configure the free igloohome account phone app. See the igloohome app quick start guide for complete instructions. Then log into https://connect.igloocompany.co/ to complete your igloohome setup. Select OwnerRez from the service providers.

4. Configure your door lock in OwnerRez by navigating to Settings > Workflow & Devices > Door Locks > + Connect a Lock Integration and click the "Connect igloohome" button.

"Configure

NOTE: When clicking the "Connect igloohome" button it will ask that you confirm that this may increase your monthly charges.

5. Acknowledge the monthly fee per lock that will be added to your monthly charges if you have an igloohome lock or locks mapped. Click "Ok, I understand" to continue.

6. Enter your email address and password to sign in to your igloohome account. Click "Sign In" to continue.

10. While your door lock codes are driven by your igloohome door lock configuration (igloohome Integration > Change > Code Generation) for individual bookings, there may be rare situations where you have to manually unlock or lock your igloohome lock in OwnerRez. You can do that by clicking on the Lock and Unlock icons in the igloohome Device column.

Common Issues & Questions

How do I handle the "Door code already exists" error?

The "Door code already exists" error is dealt with by following these steps.

  1. Delete the old code on the igloohome app.
  2. Re-sync the door code in OwnerRez.

De-integration

To de-integrate or delete any locks, users can unmap the lock from any properties (Integration, step 8), and that will remove the lock from being listed.
