I've been using RemoteLock for this and when their system works correctly, it's awesome. But their customer service/support is basically non-existent, so heaven forbid something go wrong or not work as it's supposed to -- because you basically have no way to get needed support!
For that reason alone I would absolutely love being able to directly integrate my Schlage Encode keypads into OR!!
It would be helpful for me if I could give my cleaners with portal access access to reviews posted for the properties they clean.
We are actually working on a more general capability that would allow you to configure an expense (that can be for anything) of a fixed amount or a percentage. So, this would achieve the effect you describe. That should be out soonish.
And updates/changes to this?
WH was better before the "boom" times. I think it will be better again since demand is softening and more "aggressive" PL pricing would not necessarily work.
Hi Chris. Wheelhouse has been the best partner for us as well. We’ve used PL and Beyond Pricing as well and just don’t feel that they do as tight of a job bringing in the best RevPAR. Wheelhouse is the one platform that actually felt like I could “set it and forget it” (even though I still always closely monitor bookings and pricing) and it was very customizable as well for booking details. It also is constantly changing rates so it gives a lot of opportunity to catch the right fish at any given moment. It’s been a few years since we started working with OR but I’ve missed Wheelhouse every day since.
Yep, I'd drop PL if WH was available
Interesting to see you say that. I was with WH in the early days (2017) before I was API-integrated with OR and while the UI is slick, I found WH was very conservative with adjusting rates for demand and weekday-vs-weekend and seasonality and that PL is much more willing to significantly adjust rates for those factors (especially with the "Aggressive" occupancy-based profile enabled). PL also seems to have much more customizability around preferences and rules and things, even though their UI could use significant updating.
I was going to say that WH's 1% fee would also end up costing me more, but it looks like they now offer a flat plan that is comparable in price to PL. So I'd be willing to try them again given that (and given them eventually integrating with OR), but in the meantime, I'm curious what makes you say they're a better offering than PL in your experience.
Good news from our partner Touch Stay! Touch Stay can now push the guidebook links into OwnerRez field codes. This addition has been documented here: https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/Touch-Stay#how-to-send-guidebook-links-to-ownerrez-as-field-codes
So this request has been marked released! Enjoy, and thanks Touch Stay!
Yep! I just enabled it a couple days ago and it works seamlessly (after a minor hiccup with updating invite links for already-booked reservations).
Also worth noting that OR supports syncing door codes back to TouchStay, so TouchStay can display the guest's door code right in the guest's guidebook, which may be nice. (Though it does allow guests to see their door code when they haven't met all my criteria for receiving the door code by email, such as signing RAs and setting up SecDeps, so I'm not 100% sure I'll keep using that feature, but I'm trialing it for now.)
Most payment processors do not use simple math to calculate their fees, and, they can vary by account even with the same processor based on your negotiations with them. So, it is out of the question for OwnerRez to attempt to do that calculation itself.
You're half right. Some payment processors don't use simple math. But I don't care. I charge my limited-service clients 3% for payment processing. Yes, Ascent only charges me an average of ~2% (since I'm on interchange-plus with them), but I don't need the #s in OR to be perfectly accurate--I just want to avoid the hour of work every month to go through EVERY credit card charge with a calculator and tag on a 3% fee to charge my clients. All you need to do is allow me to automatically add a 3% payment processing fee to all my charges. It should NOT be hard for OR to do that.
As for Vrbo...yes, the math with Vrbo is simple: 5% of any charges that are not coded as tax. I often do the math myself when I have a stay that crosses from the previous month to the next one and Vrbo doesn't include it in their end-of-month statement until the subsequent month. In 100% of the cases, I'm exactly correct to the penny. If I can be correct 100% of the time, so can OR.

At present, our integrations with Stripe and Lynnbrook do automatically import the accurate fees; our connections with them support the transmission of that data, and, those processors send it to us. Other processors do not and/or cannot.
The Vrbo fees are also not mere simple math, which is also why we don't have a way to "just import" them yet either. Research is ongoing though, as this is a known significant source of manual work which is the sort of thing OwnerRez is intended to get rid of.
After looking at this, I'm not positive this will be possible, at least with my current setup. My CMS unfortunately puts custom HTML into its own iframe and your widget also loads an iframe, meaning that I have two layers of iframes to traverse and I'm not positive how Fullstory's script works in that regard.
Regardless, I did attempt this as is without setting that CSP header within my Booking/Inquiry Widget and it did not work, unfortunately. So it appears that an implementation as I suggested would need to be done.
Surely there’s some way we could turn on a fee calculation that auto populates for VRBO bookings. This repetitive manual stuff is so 2010.
If Vrbo isn't willing to spec it into their API, then OR really needs to make an option to programmatically just do the math (it's simple) and automatically add it to any bookings on the Vrbo channel.
Same with payments. I should be able to set any bookings that are processed via a given payment processor to automatically have a payment fee of my choosing added. So even if my processor doesn't feed the actual processing fee back, any charges from that processor automatically get a 3% (or whatever I set) payment processing fee added.
This really shouldn't be that hard, and it'd save me at least an hour's worth of work every month.
Is there no way we could get VRBO to include the commission fees in their API feed? If not I still maintain that an API level feature would be good to set the commission percentage for VRBO. There is no variation in the fee charged. It is exactly 5% (or whatever your commission is) of the total of rent and surcharges.
This represents a one time entry at a property or API level as opposed to countless manual entries to make the fee calculation accurate for each individual bookings. This becomes a lot of overhead administration the larger the scale of your operation.
I agree. It would be awesome to be able to activate an automatic 5% expense for this since it can't be brought over via API or channel bridge!
We've asked, but they don't seem particularly interested. We've looked into potentially importing them using Channel Bridge or an exported report from Vrbo, but there are issues with that too. Maybe one of these days...

Can you create an example of the widget where it's not working with the script and send it to the helpdesk so that we can have a look at that specific scenario?
YES!!! Also, a way to show occupancy rates (a percentage based on the number of nights booked in period) to Owner Statements would be awesome!
Haven't found a way to do this yet: Triggers only seem to work with bookings.
Automatically follow up on a quote or inquiry have a trigger that allows for an automatic message template or something to be sent depending on the time etc. after an inquiry or quote has been placed to follow up with the potential guest.
This would be so good to have as we find we are having to do this manually and has great rate of converting quotes and inquiries to bookings.
Would love this functionality as well- any update on this a potential feature?
Thanks!

Would like to see the number of nights added to the line item pivot report (and others) since Avalara requires this data for reporting.
Currently using Beyond and not terribly impressed. Wheelhouse is the best pricing tool we’ve used. It’s the closest to “set it and forget it” while actually bringing in great dynamic data and doing the work for us. Beyond and PriceLabs have left us missing Wheelhouse. ;(
Each suggested additional payment method is its own rather complex integration process, not just one task, and would need to be prioritized separately.
We do have a standalone request (actually several, that have now been merged) for adding Venmo as a payment method:
https://www.ownerrez.com/forums/requests/pick-list-on-payment-type
You can vote on that individually.

There's already a checkbox for the EV charger, under Accommodations.
There isn't a text field though, because none of the channels support it, so it wouldn't appear anywhere it can be readily searched for by most guests. If they do offer that option we'll add it. Otherwise, you'd do best to spell out details in your Description or some other similar field.
any update on being able to have mulitple users?
Now that OwnerRez is integrated with Ok2Charge, I’m wondering whether EV Charger could be added to Amenities with a handy-dandy box to provide additional information. This information could provide the type of EV charger and its location. Or a similar box could be added under Accommodations/Vehicles. Btw, just installed two Enel Juice Boxes.
I have a couple of recommendations to make the Reviews widget more appealing to prospective guests.
This is similar to the paid services provided by Revyoos and Repuso. This would make the reviews appear more legitimate because prospective guests can see where the reviews originated from.
