Pricing Preferences, Security Safeguards, Message on Renter Agreements, Rate Widget Months, and Bug Fixes
4 years ago...I'm talking about these things:
Yep, those things. And yes, we've known about it too. To make matters worse, as you keep clicking stuff, new pop-over cards would open even though the old ones didn't close. You had to click on the same link as before to close a single card. We finally had enough and fixed this. It is much easier no...

Delay Negative Reviews on Airbnb, Expense Categories, Channel Transparency, Theme Cleanup
4 years ago...rrez.com/vacation-rental-channel-manager best channel manager in the vacation rental industry, we do a lot of work on monitoring and improving our channel connections. While we can't work on channel stuff every week, we constantly make notes so that we can jump on improvements when the time allows. Not a month goes by when we aren't making channel updates. In this release, we hit a couple of things w... -

Create quotes (or check rates) quickly right from the ribbon!
9 years ago...me you look at your ribbon calendar, you'll notice that a little green button appears as you hover over the empty cells.
Give that a little click, and bam - up pops a quick quote box witha bunch of stuff prefilled for you including the rates and any rules or warnings that might prevent the guest from booking.

BlueMtnCabins in response to: Price comparison widget
10 months ago...ve hundreds of 5-star reviews across all popular platforms. Guests being unhappy does not mean they are indeed unhappy. What I mean is that Airbnb guests tend to act unhappy and come up with nitpicky stuff to extract refunds because Airbnb has trained them to act that way - refunding 30% for just a phone call alleging something is wrong, most of the time requiring no proof from the guest and just takin... -
Eric Moeller
7 years agoWould it be stepping over the line to alert people to three free days of webinars from vacation rental industry experts? It is free, and I did this last year. And I didn't sign up for any paid version of it. No I have nothing to do with it. I just got an email about this year's version
Most people can learn a huge amount about vacation rental stuff from this.

Channel Bridge- " Bridge of Sighs"..
6 years agoI HATE the process in place for the channel bridge...yes, it's probably just me...we go to the extension ( since chrome upgrade those are hidden, btw, and cannot figure out how to get them on my small tablet). Why can't we put all channel bridge "stuff" on one page instead of the extension...then the download...then go to another page to upload...awful. -
Michelle J in response to: New Email feature
14 years ago...inor one-offs, we're working on email-related features for the next several sprints. It will probably be a good 3-4 months before we switch to another big area because there's a lot of email-related stuff we need to do.
I can't promise exact dates for templates or mail merge but that's a huge part of this. Nearly everything you've asked for, as it relates to email, has been scheduled except for the...

Chris Hynes in response to: On a lighter note: More embeddables suggestions
6 years ago...hers would be outlined in the rate notes.
2) For amenities, we've thought about that but the problem is if we put it in a widget then it's going to affect the SEO on your site. Google doesn't search stuff in widgets as well as they do things that are written out directly on the site which is why we've so far avoided making widgets for the content parts that you do want to SEO.

Paul W in response to: How do we test everything --> emails & triggers / erental locks / agreement / hosted website / payment(s) / deposit / etc?
7 years ago...ect. After booking, look at:
- the email(s) you got as both the guest and owner and their language
- the renter agreement you signed
- the charges and amounts you paid
- the rules about when future stuff will be collected
- the trigger emails that are set to go out on the bookingAnd then adjust what you don't like.
You can always Void & Delete the credit card payment so that it doesn't go to settl...

Paul W in response to: Setting up a new unit - what sequence to follow
7 years agoGood question. I'd set it up in OwnerRez but not the listing content (descriptions, amenities, photos, location stuff). Then put a basic property record in place so that you can play with it and get rates right or whatever else. Then later fill out your VRBO listing and import that into OwnerRez. If you move to our HomeAway API coming up, we can push your OwnerRez property data into VRBO directly a... -
Paul W in response to: VRBO downloads now called HomeAway? Duplicating data?
7 years agoWe are looking into this. A recent change to Channel Bridge was made to help with HomeAway logins and it looks like we may be classifying all VRBO stuff as HomeAway now. This is pending. -
JTVRs in response to: OpenEdge - I DO NOT recommend!
7 years agoOnline transactions like vacation rentals, especially card not present, are probably in the high risk category. Think Lynbrook specialized in VRs. Maybe openedge not. This kind of stuff may only get worse. -
Chris Hynes in response to: HTML writer
8 years agoWhat sort of software are you looking for? Most should work in terms of pasting HTML into OR, just as long as there isn't any extra stuff like <script> tags. Are you running into an issue? -
Chris L in response to: Are you aware that you pay commision to VRBO for extra sevices you sell to your guests (e.g. airport transfers)?
4 years ago...r 2, the agency only gets commission on 2. TAs sort of take it in the shirt either way, but it is how it has historically been done.
Vrbo really shouldn't be able to grab additional commission on stuff not booked through them. Maybe the OR team needs to go back to Vrbo and bring this up in light of how commissions work with other parts of the travel industry? Ultimately, it's OR that reports the re...

Not yet. We've been hunkered down on messaging, website and PM stuff since then. We do plan on working on QB updates throughout 2021, but no ETA yet.
The difference in model is basically that income isn't realized until the booking actually arrives and the money i...
