Yep, we'll have that for sure in the v1. What we're trying to do is get a good generic base that doesn't paint us into a corner, something we can build on with additional logic as we see the more detailed use cases.

Understood.

I think if payment v1 just gives us the option to select N number of payments, and choose a flat $ amount or "% of balance" for each, and "balance remaining" for the last, and due dates for each that would be a good start.
Later on adding variable payment structures (if 6+ months out charge X, etc) and the ability apply individual surcharges/fees/taxes to a specific payment, or split them over all payments would be great. There are lots of variations from what I see people talking about....

Thanks

Tim

That's some good info to have for sure. We haven't gotten to that level of detail yet, but we'll factor that in.

There may be some of these advanced scenarios like paying different types of things at different dates or multiple schedules depending on days in advance that aren't automatic in that first version of payment schedules. But we will definitely be solving this on a quote by quote basis in v1 -- even if you can't get set up a rule to cover a scenario for instant book, you will be able to set up the payments exactly how you want on a quote before you send it (as opposed to being limited to 2 like it is now).

Yep, we're trying to nudge more questions over here on the forums as well -- it's a great knowledge base for everyone.

eRL does, but we don't yet. We have plans to do it, but it takes a bit of work so you can name locks, get a merge field with a list of codes, etc.

For now, the custom fields is the best way to go.

Are you guys working on the ability to support multiple locks (erental lock) on a single property? I have a duplex that I often rent both units together. Right now, I have a couple of custom code fields (upstairs and downstairs) and I manually add codes for each booking so that my email template can combine two codes into one email. It would be nice if we could assign multiple locks to a property.

Thanks,

Tim

If I remember correctly then yes, ERL supports multiple locks on same property. You need to look in their hep files.

Paul,
Can you share some of the options you are working on regarding payments? I know that a lot of us use a variety of payment structures.
Personally, for "advanced" reservations (6+ months out) I take a $300 deposit. Then the remaining 50% rent (if rent is $2000, then $700 becomes due so that I have half the rent) due in December and the balance due ($1000 PLUS security, cleaning + taxes) 30 days prior. For "regular" bookings it is 50% rent ($1000) due up front and the balance due ($1000 PLUS security, cleaning + taxes) 30 days prior. Will the coming changes cover that kind of structure? I think when I asked about payments previously you or Chris talked about allowing N payments, etc. Just not sure if we will be able to tack on surcharges to the final payment as opposed to splitting the total? I know most people don't like to charge taxes, cleaning and security deposits in advance so being able to choose whether to split the total amount or backload the surcharges would be great. Thanks!

(I'm trying to move more of my questions to the forum so that I can keep track of what I have already asked!!!... and for the benefit of other users)

Thanks for the suggestion, Tim. Multi-user accounts (ie. multi logins to the same account w/ different permissions) is something we'd like to do for sure. Cleaners would certainly use that as would others.

Have you looked into 3rd party apps for the cleaning schedule? We integrate with the ResortCleaning app. They can populate your OwnerRez bookings automatically so that cleaners using the ResortCleaning app see what is coming up from OwnerRez automatically.

Hi Jon and Monica,

Yes, that's exactly the type of multi-payment schedule we have in mind (not done yet but on the list). You'll be able to set up more than 2 times (currently it's hardcoded to 2) and then specify options like you just laid out - flat amount, % of total, % of remaining, etc. We've been tied up a lot this year with triggers, channels, QB and other things so we've gotten behind on payment schedules but it's coming.

Two ways I'd like to see it done.....
1. Being able to create a separate USER with a title of "cleaner" on the account would be best. I think I already mentioned it to Chris previously. That way your cleaner can log in and see your upcoming schedule.
2. and this sort of would go with the cleaner USER, but the ability to create a "cleaning schedule" where you block out a certain period of time after each rental for "cleaning"....which would then be shared with the cleaners.

Hmmm. I must have misunderstood this thread.

I'm looking to be able to set a policy of 3 payments for all bookings.

If > 60 days before check in $350. (I get people booking months and months in advance.)
At 60 days before check in or if booking is <60 days, half or half of the remainder.
At 30 days before check in or if booking is <30 days, final in full payment.

No ETA yet for offline payments. You can already go and schedule any number of credit card payments on a booking.

Hi everyone,

Yes, things like Zelle would be part of "custom instructions" payment method where you tell the guest how to pay you in some other/offline way. You are then responsible for making sure you get that payment and record it in OwnerRez as a manual payment on the booking.

Norman, credit card processing does occasionally have its headaches, but without it, you use lose a lot of power and automation. We highly recommend configuring credit card processing. Chargebacks are extremely rare and typically non-existent if you vet guests well and have good communication records.

We are planning on updating our payment schedules for supporting multiple (and for check or any type of payment) but there is no current scheduled ETA for that.

By "offline payments" you mean them sending me a check or wiring funds?
I think I want to avoid credit card payments due to charge backs and the fees.
In any case payment schedules should be consistent regardless of payment methods.

You can do scheduled payments on the booking, but not a full payments schedule for quotes and offline payments.

Once we round the corner on our channel integrations, which has been the focus this year, we'll be moving on to new things like full N payment schedules.

Inquiry list Status column improvements 0 replies

1. Status says "Quoted" even after the quote expired. would be good if it showed "Expired" for those.

2. Would be great to have another status I can apply to an inquiry/quote: "rejected" or "booked elsewhere" or something like that. Three days after a quote is sent, I send a follow up email to the ones that haven't booked, so having a way to remember that the guest responded with "no" would help keep me from sending a follow-up e-mail to that guest.

Sticky Filter for Rates 3 replies

Waiting for sticky and have a similar idea.
When testing using multiple windows it would be nice if each rate and season had a "SAVE" and a "SAVE & CLOSE" button.
This way I could save the rates but not have the window close. Much faster testing.
Also
For clients it would be nice for them to have a calculate button and a submit button.
They would then get to test and refine their dates before submitting them as final.

We don't have direct integration with MailChimp.

Instead, use the Email List report in the Reports section to dump all of the data from OwnerRez and import that into Mailchimp or any other email tool.

Has this been done?
We have that Contact 7 form and a Widget with Ownerrez that is supposed to handle reservations and quotes.
And we also have Mailchimp which is what I use for my mailing list - I have 580 names on that.
On our website and in our Social Conversions we would ideally use one form that adds people to Mailchimp AND routes the inquiry to ownerrez.
Automation - a wonderful thing.
Please update this topic if it exists or doesn't.

The widgets should automatically resize down on small screens -- do you have an example page where that's not working?

The best thing to do is to open multiple browser tabs. That way you can test in one and make changes in the other.

You can also open rate tester in its own separate tab (instead of the modal) by middle clicking the link.

Can the Test Option for rates be allowed to float so you can edit the rates and retest without having to enter the data again?

It would be great to have a link to the tester directly from this list.
https://app.ownerrez.com/seasons

The rate checker could be more useful. For example the ! that indicates an error - how cool if that took you to the area where you needed to edit the rates.

I've got 5 properties, so my booking calendar can get pretty busy. TODAY is always marked by a light yellow background, but it just doesn't stand out well enough when I've got a lot of bookings. I'd like the option to change the highlight color (or just see it permanently changed to something more noticeable), as the light yellow is not noticeably different enough for my old eyes.

I have some timeshare weeks that I rent. It's a bit of a pain to manually block all of the time not used. The way that VRBO does this is great, in that I can set seasons for the weeks that are available, and NOT set a standard rate. Any time that does not have a rate set is essentially blocked.

I've spoken to VRBO about this and it seems whomever I talk to is unaware of this 'feature'. My worry is that it might go away sometime, and then I'll be stuck needing to set my individual week rates AND block off the time that I don't have available.
I think it would be great if I could do this in OR and then just let the calendar sync the blocked time to the OTAs.

If there is some reason that this feature would be undesirable for non-timeshare owners, then perhaps a toggle that allows us to turn it on when necessary.
