We would like to have the ability to configure a tag on Surcharges and Discounts that if added to a transaction would add those tags to the booking where they are used. For example we have a Surcharge for those that want to utilize the HotTub. When we add this surcharge to a booking and save it the booking would be updated with the appropriate charges and the tag on the booking would now include whatever tag was identified on the surcharge to be added. (in our example the booking would now have tag HotTub attached to it). What this allows us to then manage is communication via tags... if a transaction has the tag HotTub we can send instructions on how it is unlocked... If it doesn't we can send a message describing the service offered and the pricing and asking if they would like to add it... ie if it doesn't have the tag... send the message...
Guest addons is another issue but I will put it into a different feature request...

Whats the status on tag automation?
It's on the roadmap for this year, with much work having already been done.
Tag generation based on guest IP address or contact info indicating country which I could then use to trigger English templates vs Spanish templates etc. Or simply based on a custom check out field. A drop down option to custom fields instead of just plain text, rich text, of files may be a precursor to this latter option but would really lend itself to tag automation. For example, ask the guest at check out by way of a custom field: “is your preferred language English or Spanish?” They then select from a drop down that you’ve customized to show “English” or “Spanish”. Then tag automatically based on their selection. Could be used in the context of free add ons or guest preferences. Would you like for us to set out a pack and play? Yes or no? How many towels would you like for us to set out? 1 or 2 per guest? Etc…

Really like where everything is going with the new developments. I have added a bunch of surcharge packages but the one issue is that i manually need to check if people are purchasing these packages as there is not a way to currently add a tag or to have anything trigger to us. I would really love to see this soon.

Need to add to TAG AUTOMATIONS
* Apply Tag for CHARGES > ADD ON > Options
* Apply Tag for CHARGES > SURCHARGE > Options
* Apply Tag for CUSTOM FIELDS > Is Empty / Is Not Empty > Contains "text string" > Uploaded File is True/False
This way we can auto tag and then set a trigger based on the tag for each of these business case scenarios.
Do we have an ETA on the tags automation for when the guest selects add-ons or certain surcharges that are applied?
I would also love to follow up on the status of this feature! In my case, tag automation would come in handy for automatically populating the Charges on a booking. For instance, we offer an all-inclusive add-on for our guests, which I mark with a tag so that our team is aware. It would be very helpful if our All-Inclusive charge was automatically added on to the list of charges when they have the appropriate tag for it!
I can't think of a better feature to add than a auto-tag function for surcharges. We offer several packages that require special preparations, and now I have to review the charges on each and every reservation and manually tag them if they purchased one. Please hurry on this one!
I also have to admit that I don't see anything that the new Tag Automation can do that we couldn't do before. Maybe I'm missing something.

Yes, this is what is needed to automate the upsell process. I would add a way to offer upsells after the booking process, like sending a link to add upsells (late check-out). I guess this would be part of the upcoming guest portal.
