OwnerRez is now a Preferred Partner of HomeAway

Our older users know that it took a few years for OwnerRez to break into the channel API integration game. We avoided using third party software and lobbied hard for the channels to work with us directly. It paid off, and a year ago we got our own direct API integrations off the ground. OwnerRez now has the best channel management features available in the vacation rental industry.

While many of our competitors offer channel management of some kind (many use third party managers), many of those competitors don't work to improve those features or keep up with the latest channel standards and features.

Here at OwnerRez, our foot has never lifted off the gas pedal. We meet with our channel partners monthly and keep up to date with all their latest features. For instance, we are about ready to release Cancellation Policies in OwnerRez. These allow you to define your own cancellation periods and percentages, coinciding with a new custom cancellations feature that HomeAway offers via API. We also recently added House Manual support and Custom Taxes for Airbnb.

And the results have paid off. Last month, in the middle of coronavirus hysteria, OwnerRez achieved Preferred Partner status with HomeAway.

Of the many vacation rental software apps on the market, only a select few have achieved Preferred Status. You can see OwnerRez now listed in the HomeAway partner directory. Elite status - here we come!

Extremely pleased you have broken into the API piece we were very tired of VRBO holding our money and dictating to us about cancellations.

The official policies have not publicly changed, but we are running various experimental pilot programs in cooperation with VRBO engineers. Please contact the Helpdesk for more information.

Does the preferred partner status give any boost in rankings within VRBO?

@Alex: please contact our help desk (help@ownerreservations.com) for questions about that. There are options available that we are not publicly able to advertise yet.

Does this change anything about how and when we get paid for reservations through Vrbo?

No. If you are not using our API connection to HA/VRBO, you'll be still paid according to their policies. If you are using our API connection, you'll be paid in accordance with your agreement with your credit card payment processor you have chosen and configured in OwnerRez.

So from a practical standpoint, what do I need to do in order to tie my OwnerRez account with their API? Thanks!

Ken and team- we appreciate you guys so much. We've spent so much time lobbying our "partner success manager" at VRBO and talking to execs directly at the Partner Summit to yield nothing on the less than 5 properties API access for years and you guys pulled it off! It's working very well now and we can't wait to see what else you have in store!! Well done!!

@D. Chad Q: Thanks for the kind words. We love what we do, and we like who we work with and for. The folks on the IPM side of VRBO are pretty cool and are great to interact with.
