I would like to have a way to block a bad guest email and/or ip from hitting my website and booking. Some guests I just don't want back. Right now I allow guests to automatically book my condo. Im open to different ways to accomplish this other than sending an email that says I'm sorry my husband booked these dates and I didn't know.
Thanks.
I'd like to have a way to set a default phone number type which would be shown on reports (much like you can do with cell phone contacts). This would just be by account - not needed at the individual guest level.
Example: I use mobile numbers for contact and door code purposes. If a guest enters all their various numbers, their home phone number shows on reports.
Hi Norman, sorry for the delay on this. Just noticed your response here from a couple weeks ago...
I don't have any documentation on the QB Desktop imports. Other users here may be able to instruct you in that. Yes, QB Online isn't cheap. It used to be, but then they did a bunch of work, cornered the market and drove the price up.
You don't have to use the Class attribute. Personally, I would recommend it since it allows you to pivot your reports by that, but you don't have to. See if you can get Department/Location attributes in QB without paying for Class. Department/Location can do the same type of tracking.
We do not, internally, have reports for income/expenses. We have avoided building out a lot of accounting features since our focus is on the booking side and we want to do well at that. Once we go accounting, the number of expected features would explode (double entry bookkeeping, chart of accounts, taxes, journal entry, depreciation, balance sheets and so on) and we don't want to head in that direction. We want to focus on the booking side of things.
Sweet!
Rates sync with booking.com right now, and there is an Airbnb push in beta. We're working on HomeAway.
I think it is working now.
Which sites will my rates sync with? HA, VRBO, AirBNB?
Which season is out of date order?
Great
While at it you might want to see if you can implement the Quicken / Quickbooks protocols for date shortcuts
I will bet there might even be code on the internet - maybe Intuit will give you the code

Great - thanks
Neither shows holidays.
It would be nice to see if you have a holiday in play while creating a quote / inquiry without having to refer to another calendar.
Is there any documentation on how they do that?
I was just on the phone with QB - no deals after 1st year. Just wanting class will make you pay $720 a year.
Do most people just consolidate all their properties into one line?
What level of QB Online do most use?
Do you have reports that can break down the properties into columns by income and expense? I kind of doubt that.
Any other accounting options?
Better but with some of the same issues as before but just with May and Memorial day still at the bottom

I noticed that when in season if you sort by period it does not sort the way one would expect.
In rates by season it sorts correctly now.
I put in a feature to have the filter stay on (sticky) until the user changes it. Moving back and forth from seasons to rates wipes out the filter settings.
I also would like to see a ribbon filter so you can adjust them without opening the filter dialog box
We've considered QuickBooks Desktop integration, but it doesn't offer full sync support that would let us make updates to invoices and payments as incidentals are added and payments come in.
We do have reports and exports for bookings and charges and payments, so some folks will dump those to Excel and then import to QB desktop that way.
Mmm... That's a good one. It was actually already adding a year, but it was adding this year. What you actually want to do is look at the date and see if the season end has passed as of today. If not, use this year for sort. If so, use next year for sort.
We just pushed up a hotfix for this. How's it looking now?
Which popup, on the quick quote? Or in the inquiry widget?
Yep, and cap it.
Yep, this is a good one. We need to standardize the different pickers we use and add that feature.
Yep, we've got sticky filters, saved filters, etc in the planning stages.
Right now the best thing to do is to middle click on a row to open in a new tab which will leave the grid filtered.
Hello - me again.
I am new to OR but have been using QB Pro Desktop 2016 for many years.
I really like the class option that let's me show separate columns for each property and for misc income.
Now the kicker.
OR only uses Quickbooks Online. This means you need to pay $60 a month to get that feature that I used to get included with the desktop.
I want to make a request to integrate both Online and Dektop and I am willing to be the beta-tester Guinea Pig to get it done.
It would be nice to know how many characters we are at while entering a text description. After all the calculation is being done anyway.
"The field Summary must be a string or array type with a maximum length of '80'."
That was perfect. Glad you have that option.
I thought it would have been under the Financial Settings area or the forms settings itself.
I want to use recurring dates as much as possible but I also need to use specific dates.
The behavior appears to look at the recurring first (which don't have years) and then the specific dates which do have years. So the order is odd.
I think that if you can dynamically add the proper upcoming year to the recurring and then sort that might fix it.

The Widget beautifully displays the holidays. Could the pop up for the date fields Start Date and End Date also do the same thing? Perhaps not possible but would be cool if it did.
In any of the date fields it would be very nice if the End Date defaulted to the same as the Start Date if the start date is changed. For example if I enter a start date of 07/01/2019 it would be great not to have my end date appear as today and then need to click it a lot or even (shudder) manually enter the desired date.
Just a little thing but it would effect data entry that goes over and over and over the same thing.
The rates widget is ordered by date.
Can you describe a bit more about what you're looking for on special rates in your scenario and how that would match with a date ordering?
I created a custom payment method for a Wire Transfer.
The system somehow forces it to wait 15 days just like it was a paper check.
This led to an error on the Inquiry Widget I was testing.
I discovered that by creating one. I got around it by enabling Paypal.
The Filter is a nice feature when looking at the rates but it should stick with the settings until one manually gets rid of the filters.
I have to constantly reapply the filters.
The Rates Widget tends to have a weird order of display when inserted into my website.
If I define a season for a special rate and want it up top it doesn't display there.
Great, was thinking of the same thing!
Yep, that calendar picker is a little finicky. What's actually happening is that the first click is the start date and then second is the end date -- even though the calendar is below the end date box, the first click is still setting the start date because you can pick dates in either box.
If you want to change just the end date, first click in the end date text box which will set you to end date picking mode, then click on the calendar to pick it.
