Expenses / Maintenance

Add a new report to track maintenance issues or use the Expense area and add a catergory (picklist)
Expense: Maintenance, Housekeeping, General, Admin ,etc.
This way you can run reports on expenses by category by property.

It would be nice to record all the times a PM has to go to a property and record the reasons why. You can currently use expenses but it would be great it it could be separated out on the PM statement.

This is an excellent idea that I could use as well.

Yep, we have plans for both categorization of expenses and surcharges as well as tracking maintenance.

We're currently working through channel integrations, most recently Airbnb, but once that's done those other tracking things will be high on the priority list.

No updates or ETA yet, but soon. PM has a bunch of updates coming. We're working on mostly messaging/templates and Airbnb full API integration right now. We also have a spot rate calendar editor coming out in a week or two.

Glad to see updates are planned! Recording visits and reasons would be nice to show owners (especially ones who live nearby and periodically consider managing themselves) how much work we do. ;)

I do have a feature request: assigning a single expense to multiple owners or properties (with options to divide equally or manually enter amounts). If I do a $550 Sam's Club order and have lots of items to split across multiple properties (i.e. buying 5 packages of toilet paper for 5 different properties), it's cumbersome to have to enter 5 different expenses. It'd be much easier to just create a single Sam's Club Order expense and put that $200 of it was for Property A, $250 was for property B, and $300 was for property C.

Bonus points if it can work like the (awesome) Splitwise app and automatically divvy up the sales tax correctly so I don't even have to manually calculate the cost of toilet paper + tax (it's times like these a European VAT system is appealing...). But that's a big ask. ;)

Yep! So much we could drill into on the tracking and splitting of expenses and taxes. I'm sure it'll keep us busy for years to come :-)

We've added a great many improvements to PM and Expenses, which I think meet the intention of this request.
