New Airbnb App and search categories

I know it's brand new (today) but I logged in to see what i need to do to update my properties for the new Airbnb category searches. I can find the announcement from Airbnb but can't find any more than that. I'm assuming they will arrive soon and that OwnerRez will have some new boxes for us to fill in.

Anyone know anything about it?

Airbnb just announced it to us as well.  Their official guidance says that the new categories will be "evaluated using machine learning", which suggests that, no, there won't be any additional boxes for you - their systems will presumably automatically search your photos and descriptions for mentions of Frank Lloyd Wright and grand pianos, to grab a few examples.

We are continuing to request additional information, and will quickly support any new options Airbnb makes available.

Airbnb has just confirmed to us that, indeed, this will be entirely automated using machine learning, so there will be no new settings, amenities, or other options to configure.

I think their Machine has a lot of learning to do. I looked for my place under countryside and national parks but despite it actually being in both it doesn’t turn up in the searches.

Plenty of other places that aren’t in the countryside or a national park turned up though.

Looks a bit of a mess at the moment.

Airbnb just released the ability to see your categories in the hosting site:

To check your listing categories, follow these steps:

• Log in to your Airbnb hosting dashboard.
• Go to your listing in the “Listing Details” tab.
• Scroll to the “Property and rooms” section.
• Look for the “Categories” line item, which displays the categories your listing is listed in.
• Click on “View” for more details about each category.

If you discover an ability to edit/effect your category, do report back.

There is no official way unfortunately. I have had some success bending the ear of one of the Airbnb community forum leaders who said she would sort the problem out for me. However she’s only been successful in one category when I should be in 3.

I’m still bugging them until it is sorted out!

Any updates on this?  I have lost my Ski In / Out category.

I just tried to add it with Elevate tool.   Has anyone had luck with this?

Ticket sent in a few hours ago..    happy to jump on a zoom and share what I learned from AirBNB..

Frustrating if AirBNB Category's are search filters and we can't update them ourselves.

I recently saw this info on a forum post. Had you tried these steps?

Apparently you can choose to request a certain category:
Go to the listing, click property I believe and it will show categories. Then click learn more. Scroll to the part that says “change categories” or something similar. There’s a link that says “elevate”. Click on that and it will take you to a sign on page where you put your Airbnb log in and it will show all your listings and categories to change. It is said you can request to add/change a category.

The link you added above will take you right where you need to go to request the category, it's better than the steps I posted above:
