Setup & Configuration
6 months ago...hing is sent to any government. While there are government rules in the US about adopting Brands and A2P sending, the information we submit is only used by our SMS carrier to prepare your "Caller ID" stuff with the carriers. We cannot say what happens to it beyond that, but OwnerRez does not transmit anything to any governing bodies, which we would not do based on our Privacy Policy ( -
Best of the best
1 year agoThe attention to detail is what separates these guys from the rest of the crowd. It. Just. Works. Every button, every screen = just works. There's no trying to force you into using certain marketing channels or buying a bunch of stuff you don't need. It was the first time I felt like the software vendor wasn't getting in my way. Really great job. -
This has worked perfectly for me & I also love the ‘app’ on my phone,
4 years ago...cheap and did it myself. I thought it was smart to try to learn it all, it would have been a wiser choice to let them set it up and learn the day to day functions first, then add the more complicated stuff. If you do it yourself, pick one area, for example the calendar syncing, and complete & understand that area before moving on to the next thing. That is my biggest helpful hint on set up and expandin... -
Paul W in response to: Kaba locks support
7 years agoSorry for the lack of response here. No ETA or news on Kaba yet. It's on our dev roadmap for 2019 for sure, but we have to get some other stuff combed out of our hair here first. -
Paul W in response to: Channel bridge
7 years ago...te - guest email, phone, charges, payments and more. You want all that in OwnerRez so you can manage bookings directly without logging ina nd out of channel constantly, and you want your down-stream stuff (reports, search, QB integration, etc) to be accurate across all bookings whether channel or not.
Channel Bridge is a work in progress and it will be for a long time. It's a fairly difficult proble...

Glenn Moore in response to: Custom fields for email templates
13 years agoThat is awesome. I have already started to use the fields to store lockcode information and other stuff. Once the email system is enhanced with workflow rules on events and dates related to the booking, then life will be even better. This is a damn fine site - I consider myself lucky to find it! -
Chris Hynes in response to: Multiple property templates, quotes inquiries
6 years ago...gers for each property if you want, but only one System Message for the whole account (for each type of System Message).
Usually, though, it's way easier to just do one template that has the overall stuff that's the same per property, and then use the Insert Field button to insert fields for the parts that change like property name, address, etc. Don't create a custom field for the entire body (althou...

Chris Hynes in response to: Trigger for Check In email including check in date/time, do's/don'ts
6 years agoAwesome!
Yep, on the logged in site on your booking area it only searches the bookings and stuff in your account.
To search support articles, forums, and blog posts, use the search box in the support area: Yes, we know we need to put that at the top of the screen here :-)
Sounds like you already found everything you need, but here's an article about doing pre-arriva...

Chris Hynes in response to: Gallimaufry of June enhancements
9 years ago...internet, firewood, mountain, forest, waterview, waterfront. I need to write an article about how all that works for this one -- the other widgets are pretty self explanatory but the search picks up stuff from many different areas.
Adding more buttons is something we will be doing for sure, but as you know we like to start small, see what the different use cases are, and then iterate from there. At a...

Sam Westcott in response to: Are you ready for some BIG updates?
10 years agoYes, Nancy, it's optional. Our features are always optional. We don't force stuff on users - not our style! -
Michelle J in response to: How will OwnerRes. handle the HomeAway e-mail policy change?
14 years agoHi GreenJoe,
Ah yes, the Airbnb-style stuff. HomeAway has been trying to duplicate what Airbnb does for the past two years. I figured that was what you were referring to. We're not terribly concerned about it, given HomeAway's track-record and their marketbase. FlipKey has recently been walking down the same road. Both HA and FK don't seem to realize that many of their customers don't want to be...

Manel S in response to: Thermostat Integration
2 years ago...perties fully on the App and it has been GREAT - before I had a Centralite keypad with MyQ and RBoy which is now not possible.
I have had a couple of calls with support they have some really cool stuff coming down the pipe... like OR they launch new features monthly and sometimes more often.
They don't have Daikin integration yet but will likely come soon if the Thermostat feature takes off......

Paul W in response to: Reports Improvements: How to see Net Total minus taxes and host fees?
4 years agoThat's a great list! Thanks for detailing that. Several of those things, we already know about and plan to add. In general, we are planning to do a lot of of accounting work in 2022, so stuff like this is great to be talking about! -
Shawn H in response to: Reports Improvements: How to see Net Total minus taxes and host fees?
2 years agoNews on which piece in particular? 2022 did bring some big accounting things.
We are currently pushing hard on large PM work (which includes how expenses are handled and also includes some reporting changes), other accounting things, and lots of other stuff.

Paul W in response to: Website options - comments please !!
7 years ago...te end changes instantly because it's built on the same infrastructure. All of our security, routing, load balancing, etc infrastructure handles the website end so you never need to worry about that stuff. And your page are always up to date because it pulls directly your OR account.
With your own third party website (Wix, GoDaddy, Wordpress) you have to manage those content pages on your own. We ha...

Chris Hynes in response to: Portal access for owners and staff released!
8 years ago...others like yourself just want the confirmation and let the housekeeper maintain their own schedule. Cleaning checklists, photo upload to note the state of the property, all of this is on our list of stuff we will be adding eventually. Thanks for the reference on resortcleaning.com -- some good ideas there! -
Paul W in response to: Coupon or discount line in the quote/invoice
7 years agoNo updates yet - sorry about that! 😥
We keep having to back-burner stuff like that because of important features that pop up. We just finished a large HomeAway API update for instance which slowed down a bunch of other things. And now we just signed with Airbnb so that will be coming too in the near future, also slowing down some things. There are certain features that we are forced to drop everyt...

Michelle J in response to: Account Field Recommendations
13 years ago...r for centralizing guest records so that you can have an actual CRM system and do reports on your repeat guests and up-selling and such. Obviously custom fields for that would have to wait until CRM stuff was actually out. I can tell you that it will probably a good deal of time before that happens.
There is a lot of focus right now on things like:
- Auto responders for inquiries
- Rules (which go... -
