I have had a couple of calls with support they have some really cool stuff coming down the pipe... like OR they launch new features monthly and sometimes more often.

They don't have Daikin integration yet but will likely come soon if the Thermostat feature takes off......

That's a great list!  Thanks for detailing that.  Several of those things, we already know about and plan to add.  In general, we are planning to do a lot of of accounting work in 2022, so stuff like this is great to be talking about!

News on which piece in particular? 2022 did bring some big accounting things.

We are currently pushing hard on large PM work (which includes how expenses are handled and also includes some reporting changes), other accounting things, and lots of other stuff.

...cheap and did it myself. I thought it was smart to try to learn it all, it would have been a wiser choice to let them set it up and learn the day to day functions first, then add the more complicated stuff. If you do it yourself, pick one area, for example the calendar syncing, and complete & understand that area before moving on to the next thing. That is my biggest helpful hint on set up and expandin...

The attention to detail is what separates these guys from the rest of the crowd. It. Just. Works. Every button, every screen = just works. There's no trying to force you into using certain marketing channels or buying a bunch of stuff you don't need. It was the first time I felt like the software vendor wasn't getting in my way. Really great job.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks, that sounds great. No issue with the delay. We're working on the PM and finance stuff at the moment. At some point within the next month, we'll need to set up a demo with them and get a free trail as their website (probably on purpose) contains very little real information. We thought that we'd check what you know first about the interface before going that route since OwnerRez ha...

Adding more buttons is something we will be doing for sure, but as you know we like to start small, see what the different use cases are, and then iterate from there. At a...

That is awesome. I have already started to use the fields to store lockcode information and other stuff. Once the email system is enhanced with workflow rules on events and dates related to the booking, then life will be even better. This is a damn fine site - I consider myself lucky to find it!

    - Check-in and Check-out policy

    - House access code for the lockbox

    - Specific reminders about the area (fishing licenses, etc)

You can find the custom paragraph stuff in your property area under the Email Settings tab.

I actually want to put check in instructions. Front door code, address, etc, so it should be private. But making the other stuff public is a good idea.

Usually, though, it's way easier to just do one template that has the overall stuff that's the same per property, and then use the Insert Field button to insert fields for the parts that change like property name, address, etc. Don't create a custom field for the entire body (althou...

From what I've heard, OR is working on getting channel messaging (i.e. replying through Vrbo, Airbnb, etc.) implemented, so once that goes live, we'll be able to send some stuff there, although rich content like PDF welcome packets and things might still have to go via email, and URLs might get censored (TBD).

I signed up for Touch Stay (they were a vendor at the Scottsdale Vrbo conference). It was ab...

...d from OwnerRez to the channel, overwriting whatever may already be there. If you want to add a new property, don't bother to do that in the channel; do it in OwnerRez, and then let OR push all that stuff to the channel when you turn on the API connection for that property, which is what it's going to do anyway.

    2. If you are *not* using an API connection, you can import property listing information...

Some of those things are already done by channels and we'd have to direct them to the channel on those bookings, but would work for direct book...

No updates yet - sorry about that! 😥

We keep having to back-burner stuff like that because of important features that pop up. We just finished a large HomeAway API update for instance which slowed down a bunch of other things. And now we just signed with Airbnb so that will be coming too in the near future, also slowing down some things. There are certain features that we are forced to drop everyt...

Yes, Nancy, it's optional. Our features are always optional. We don't force stuff on users - not our style!

    Hi GreenJoe,

Ah yes, the Airbnb-style stuff. HomeAway has been trying to duplicate what Airbnb does for the past two years. I figured that was what you were referring to. We're not terribly concerned about it, given HomeAway's track-record and their marketbase. FlipKey has recently been walking down the same road. Both HA and FK don't seem to realize that many of their customers don't want to be...
