...e I'm on the product team, I get to share upcoming product news every now and again. One of those things I'm really excited about is that we're working on overhauling the OwnerRez "Guest Forms." Good stuff!

In the meantime, because it's a large overhaul, we know we needed to handle cell phones differently on the current forms. The cell phone field is first and that way if people have one number, it's...

Last night's Google outage is still causing shockwaves through some of their services. Gmail is sending back wrong bounce messages that say stuff like "email address doesn't exist" when in fact they do!

If you're getting a lot of bounce messages from OwnerRez today, please note that we are watching this and reactivating these email addresses for you.

When the smoke clears, please look at your Commu...

...ned, this update took a lot more time because of all the areas of the application that it affected.

You can look at the technical details on the update page, but here's a quick breakdown of the big stuff.

Accounts can now have multiple payment methods

Look at your account overview page, and you'll notice that the text is different in the payment methods section. Click through to view your paymen...

...e a pricing tool, integrated, those rates change daily, regardless of whether they’re actually booked or not. This leads to big consistency issues in price adjustment. It often tries to do some crazy stuff and I have to manually change rates more often than I accept the new OR generated charges. I see others complain about this a lot in the unofficial OR FB group and would like to see this addressed.

We'll keep our eye on all the new 3DS2 stuff, but if you see something that seems off, let us know right away! Even if you're not a European merchant, keep an eye on your Stripe settings and processing history in OwnerRez and let us know if so...

...everybody, time to talk updates! This week, we've got a tidy little set of updates (about 16) to go through, all of which are enhancements or bug fixes. No new features to talk about, but the little stuff is important too! 💪

Ken was partially correct, we have similar stuff planned, but nothing that quite tackles what you're looking for. I'd recommend turning this into a FR at this time.

    Cool stuff.
It would be great if you had a special way to deal with the ridiculous VRBO/HA service fee as it would always be removed from what we actually get out of the down payment.
Thanks for the hard work you guys do.

...pensing.  In the future, we will sync these fees and deposits with QuickBooks as well.  If you use Converge or some of the others, you probably won't get that for a while if ever.

Just some other stuff to keep in mind.  The processing fee % isn't everything.

We are changing it to use the name.  The feedback on that has been overwhelming and the use case is pretty obvious.  The OwnerRez engineer working on lock stuff is already actively working on putting that in place.

...the weeds on that part first.

Before Inbox cleanup, we've had to clean up messaging features (like Autoresponder) and work our way through some of the side features so that we can get to the main stuff.  That, too, has already been underway for a while.

Our PM system has a large V2 about to drop that we've been working on for 2 years which changes a number of significant things around commissio...

Here's a quick pic of us testing it:

(Ignore the purple buttons. That's extra stuff that only OR staff can see.)

We created two different locks and associated them with the same property and set "random" as the code generation setting.  We created a booking, and, as you can see,...

I think there's a misunderstanding - you'd subscribe to VR Scheduler or Resort Cleaning, integrate that account with OwnerRez, and then set up your cleaners with accounts to log in to those systems, which offer those features. They don't have to do any fancy tech stuff.

...set amount and min. night. These will be "spot rates" which override seasonal rates in our system.

No discount codes yet, but still very important on our To Do list. We keep getting MORE important stuff that pushes it back (right now the big important thing is our Airbnb API integration) but we do care about it and plan to release it.

Yep, we're in talks with them, but waiting for them to build an API before we can do integration other than the email stuff you're using now.

Thanks for the feedback! We're continuing to develop our strategy on managing email, inbox/outbox stuff, and that's very helpful!

In the meantime, we've put email history under Tools so you have a quick link to get back there.

Thanks. I was meaning that the only issue with direct integration is the calendar looking kind of stuff. All the other Communications and functionality work on all the OTAs?

We've got some enhancements for walled gardens planned for later this year -- stuff like parsing the booking and payment notifications so we can populate charges and payments, a guest "checkout" that would accept their email address and have them sign your renter agreement, etc. As...

I think the minimum price setting takes care of them going too low, but I've never used it.

Marinas Edge, have you gotten higher prices with the smart stuff turned on? Or does it always tend to hit your minimum?
