It seems like many users could use a code field of the last four digits of the Guest Primary Phone Number. I set a custom field for that, but I have to enter the four digits manually. Many people use those digits for locks on primary entries and personal safes.

This is what works for me...
I set up a custom field with required entry during booking named "VERIFYCELL". The instructions say, "Please verify your mobile phone number."
When I send out the guest information email, I tell them that the door code will be the last 4 digits of the mobile number that they supplied when booking. I place the custom field code immediately after that sentence.

I'd prefer last X of number where X can be defined in settings. We use 7-digit phone number for a property in urban area where people could more easily see/watch you typing in a passcode.

If you are going to do last 4 of phone can you also populate the Door Lock integration (Brivo) please?

We did not add a merge field for last 4 of phone because that's a bit too specific.

Instead, if you want to insert the last 4 (or last 5/6/etc.) of the phone number, you can setup a manual door lock with a generation strategy of last 4 digits from the phone number, generated when the booking is created. Then, the door code merge fields will contain your selected subset of digits.

This approach is more flexible because it works for hosts with lock codes of any length up to 10 digits.

I've created a manual door lock, and mapped all my properties to a lock (not sure if I even needed to map them as I simple want to have a merge field for the last 4 digits), but when I'm adding the door lock merge fields, it doesn't add the last 4 digits of existing number for any. Am I adding the wrong merge fields? What should they be? Thanks.

For existing bookings, the phone number door code will not be assigned because the booking was created before the manual door lock was mapped. You can use the batch update page to assign the door lock for all future existing bookings here: https://app.ownerrez.com/settings/locks/batch

For new bookings that come in after you map the manual door lock, the code will be assigned automatically as soon as the phone number is available.
