How does this impact text messaging that was set up on OwnerRez? Is all guest communication being moved to this platform?

I'm finding it confusing now - is this an option that hosts will be paying extra for? Or his OR going to be using this third-party software instead of upgrading its own? What about for hosts who operate alone, without any teams under them?

Nothing is being moved.  This is a separate service that allows you to take the Unified Inbox in OwnerRez and expand upon it with things like AI, Phone Trees and call transcriptions, Maintenance tasks which can be auto-detected via AI, etc etc etc.  all communication still goes through the OR unified inbox.  It’s just an upgrade to the front end technology that OR has build out so beautifully this year.  I hope that helps add clarity!

This is an optional partner, like Turno for cleans, Breezeway for tasks, PriceLabs for pricing, etc.  Not required whatsoever.

does it integrate w/ airbnb? meaning will it auto respond on the airbnb platform or only if a guest direct books?

FYI - this is not a replacement for the internal Unified Inbox feature we have been working hard on for many months.  That new Inbox is well through development and into testing, and is finishing up the last rounds of tweaks before being released to a small group of initial users.  We have spent many months working on it, as well as re-shaping where we want our messaging to go in the future, and we're excited to almost have it out.

These messaging integrations (eg. HostAI) are about automated AI-based responses and are not really related to the Unified Inbox itself.  In some cases, the message partner has an inbox themselves, in other cases, they don't and rely on AI responding only.  Either way, the messages will be able to be seen and managed in the OR inbox.

Hi Scott.  I assumed the unified inbox had been rolled out to all OwnerRez users at this point, but I forgot that I had pushed for us to be beta testers when it first was being implemented.  OwnerRez has a fantastic (and incredibly clean and quick) unified inbox that shows and organizes all guest communication from Airbnb, VRBO, BDC, and SMS.  If you’re not using it or able to see it yet, I would suggest asking your rep about when it will be available.  It’s been a game-changer in our business.  

So companies like HostAI are now able to leverage the unified inbox in OwnerRez and expand upon it with a variety of additional tools, including AI responses.

I’ve only had support interactions first with Chris and Paul, then with Ken, and this year a number of different support people.
